Restoring Comfort & Contour
For patients who have lost significant weight, the inner thighs are often the most stubborn area. Loose, hanging skin here not only affects your silhouette but can cause physical discomfort, chafing, and hygiene issues.
A Thigh Lift is the definitive solution to remove this redundant tissue and restore a tighter, more athletic leg shape.
Techniques: Why "Vertical" is Better
Dr. Bravo prefers the Vertical Thigh Lift technique for most weight loss patients because it offers superior results compared to the traditional "mini" lift.
Vertical Incision: The incision runs from the groin down the inner aspect of the thigh (towards the knee).
The Advantage: This allows Dr. Bravo to tighten the skin circumferentially (all the way around). A "mini" lift (incision only in the groin) can only pull the skin up, which often results in distorted labia and incomplete tightening. The vertical approach ensures the entire thigh is slender and smooth.
The "Lipo-Lift" Combination
To ensure a smooth transition, Dr. Bravo almost always combines Liposuction with the lift.
Deflate: First, liposuction removes the heavy fat deposits.
Excision: Then, the loose skin is measured and removed precisely.
Protection: Deep sutures are used to anchor the skin to the underlying fascia, preventing the scar from widening or migrating.
Recovery
Movement: This is a delicate recovery because the incision is in a high-movement area. You will need to walk carefully and avoid spreading your legs or squatting for 3–4 weeks.
Hygiene: Keeping the incision dry is critical. You will be given specific instructions on how to shower and care for the area.
Compression: A garment must be worn for 6 weeks to minimize swelling (which can be significant in the legs due to gravity).
