What is a Lower Body Lift?
A Lower Body Lift, clinically known as a Belt Lipectomy, is the gold standard procedure for completing a massive weight loss journey. While weight loss improves health, it often leaves behind loose, hanging skin that diet and exercise cannot fix.
This transformative surgery goes beyond a standard tummy tuck by addressing the entire circumference of the torso. It removes a belt-like strip of excess skin and fat from the abdomen, lower back, and flanks.
Areas Treated
This single procedure provides a 360-degree rejuvenation:
Abdomen: Removes the "apron" of hanging skin (pannus) and tightens the abdominal muscles.
Buttocks: Lifts and reshapes flattened or sagging buttocks, restoring projection and firmness.
Outer Thighs: Smooths and elevates the lateral thigh skin, reducing saddlebags.
Waist & Flanks: Eliminates "muffin tops" and defines the waistline.
The Procedure
Dr. Bravo places the incision circumferentially around the waistline, strategically positioning it low enough to be hidden by standard underwear or bikini bottoms. Through this incision, he removes the redundant tissue and suspends the remaining skin to create a tight, toned contour. Liposuction is often combined to refine the shape further.
Recovery
Hospital Stay: You will stay 1–2 nights at Elyzee Hospital for monitoring.
Movement: Walking is encouraged on the same day to promote circulation.
Downtime: Most patients return to light desk work or daily activities within 10–14 days.
Full Activity: Strenuous exercise and heavy lifting can usually resume after 6–8 weeks.
Garments: A compression garment is worn for 4–6 weeks to minimize swelling and support the new contours.
