The Art of Subtlety
There is a misconception that Botox® makes you look "frozen." An unwanted reduction in movement can occur and depends on factors including the dose, placement and individual response.
As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Bravo understands exactly which muscle fibers pull the skin to create wrinkles. By targeting only those specific fibers, he smooths the skin while keeping the rest of the muscle active. The aim is a relaxed appearance; unwanted weakness or reduced expression can still occur.
Why We Choose Botox®
At our clinic, we refuse to compromise on quality. We exclusively use Botox® Cosmetic (Allergan), the original and most studied neurotoxin in the world.
Precision: Dose and placement are planned carefully, but unwanted spread of effect and weakness in nearby muscles can occur.
Safety: Its benefits and risks need to be discussed for the proposed treatment and your medical history.
Beyond Wrinkles: Advanced Applications
Dr. Bravo uses Botox® for structural contouring, not just line smoothing:
1. Facial Slimming (Masseter Botox) For patients with a square or wide lower face, injecting the strong chewing muscles (Masseters) relaxes them. Over time, the muscle shrinks, creating a slimmer, more feminine V-shape face while relieving teeth grinding (bruxism).
2. The "Nefertiti Lift" (Neck) By injecting the platysma bands in the neck and the jawline, we release the downward pull of these muscles. This allows the upper facial muscles to lift the jawline up, creating a sharper, more defined neck contour.
3. Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis) Botox® is a life-changing treatment for severe underarm sweating. By blocking the nerve signals to the sweat glands, it can reduce sweating by up to 90% for 6–9 months.
Aftercare (The 4-Hour Rule)
Do not lie flat for 4 hours, if this is part of your individual aftercare instructions.
Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours.
Do not rub or massage the treated area.
